How to Get Better iPhone Reception – and Less Dropped Calls

For those lucky enough (like US citizens) to have their hands on an iPhone 4 already, there has been complaints about reception issues.

Why?

Well according to Apple, it’s not a problem with the iPhone 4, it’s just the way you’re holding your iPhone. Yeh, you heard right.

The aluminium outer rim on the iPhone 4 features, which was to act as an antenna to increase the iPhone’s reception. However, by holding it in your left hand, which your palm touching the bottom left hand corner, users are experiencing loss of signal.

How to fix it?

Slip on an iPhone cover (to break skin contact) or “adjust the way you hold your phone”.

If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.” Apple official statement
