Other important Apple news

More importantly perhaps is the keynote started with a standing ovation for Steve Jobs. Jobs returned from extended sick leave after having a liver transplant.

Jobs also proudly announced that in a little over two years, Apple has sold over 30 million iPhones… man, do the sums on that – for both Apple and all the telcos.  He accredits this to the iTunes Apps Store and it’s success, with over 1.8 billion apps downloaded to date (+ updates).
