Google Earth for the iPhone

How many of you had lots of fun the Google Earth PC version when it first launched?

After downloading, you realised that about 1 million gigabytes of your computer’s hard drive (not quite, but you get my drift…) was taken up just to see very old images of your street - if you were mapped at all.

Of course, as with all technology, it has come a long way.

Now - you can download the Google Earth for iPhone from the iTunes Apps store.

The iPhone’s touchscreen makes the softare a little easier to use than the PC version… and the iPhone’s accelerometer has been integrated into the application, allowing users to tilt the device to adjust the view and see 3D terrain.

So, if you can’t afford that big trip overseas this year, why not jump on iTunes, download Google Earth for free - and take a virtual holiday somewhere exotic!
